Acknowledging her cameo in Prince Harry's memoir, "Spare," Courteney Cox addressed her involvement during a recent interview with Variety, published on Monday.
The 58-year-old actress, who featured in the book, shared insights about the Duke of Sussex's spontaneous visit to her Los Angeles home a few years ago. While confirming Harry's brief stay, Cox clarified that she absolutely did not provide the hallucinogenic mushrooms mentioned in the book during a party at her residence.
"He stayed here for a couple of days, probably two or three. He's a very nice person," Cox told Variety. The Friends star also mentioned encountering Prince Harry at a recent birthday party but regretted not having the chance to greet him.
Although she hasn't delved into "Spare" yet, Cox acknowledged being aware of Harry's account of consuming psychedelics at her home. "I haven't read the book. I want to review it because I've heard it's really entertaining. But yes, I've heard back about it," she stated, referring to the passage featuring her. "I'm not saying there were mushrooms! I definitely wasn't handing them out."
In his bestselling book released on January 10, Prince Harry disclosed his fandom for "Friends" and how he found comfort in the popular sitcom during panic attacks following his second tour of Afghanistan a decade ago.
"Day after day, night after night, I would sit around eating takeout, watching 24. Or Friends. I think I could have watched every episode of Friends in 2013. I decided it was Chandler," he revealed.
During a visit to the United States two years later, Harry detailed the surreal experience of attending a party at Cox's house and meeting the Friends star. The Prince and two friends partied in Los Angeles in January 2016, spending a few days at Cox's residence. In the book, Harry described encountering a box of mushroom chocolates in Cox's fridge, which he and a friend indulged in with tequila.
