Frank Sinatra Claims Kennedys Responsible for Marilyn Monroe's Murder

Nearly six decades after Marilyn Monroe's mysterious death, Frank Sinatra's memoir, "Sinatra and Me: In The Wee Small Hours," sheds new light on the iconic actress's demise.

Frank Sinatra Claims Kennedys Responsible for Marilyn Monroe's Murder

In the book, written by Tony Oppedisano, Sinatra's close friend and manager, startling revelations suggest the involvement of the Kennedys in Monroe's death.

Sinatra, a confidant of Monroe, expressed certainty that her death was not a result of suicide, as officially recorded. Oppedisano reveals Sinatra's belief that Monroe was murdered and never recovered from the ordeal. Monroe's close association with President John Fitzgerald Kennedy and his brother Bobby Kennedy adds complexity to the narrative.

Monroe, also known as Norma Jean Mortenson, reportedly shared her sadness with Sinatra after ending her affairs with both JFK and Bobby. The legendary actress died just days before a planned press conference, where she intended to disclose her renewed relationship with ex-husband Joe DiMaggio. Sinatra believed that the announcement of the press conference ultimately led to Monroe's untimely demise.

According to Oppedisano, Sinatra received information from various sources suggesting Monroe's murder involved a Nembutal suppository, implicating Bobby Kennedy or potentially the mafia. The book indicates that if the press conference had not been announced, Monroe might have lived longer.

Additional factors fuel the conspiracy theory surrounding Monroe's death. A biography published last year reveals Monroe underwent an abortion shortly before her demise, raising questions about the potential involvement of JFK or Bobby as the father. In 1964, Frank A. Capell and journalist Anthony Scaduto also proposed theories linking Monroe's death to JFK's efforts to protect her career.

The mafia's role in Monroe's death is another documented hypothesis. In Chuck Giancana's "Double Cross: The Explosive Inside Story of the Mobster Who Controlled America," the Kennedy patriarch's alleged collaboration with the mafia to support JFK's political career is detailed. However, when the Kennedys turned against organized crime, Giancana, feeling betrayed, reportedly orchestrated Monroe's murder as a retaliatory measure.
