Jackie Kennedy's inheritance was unveiled following the demise of Aristotle Onassis

After the tragic assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963, Jackie Kennedy entered into matrimony with the Greek tycoon Aristotle Onassis on the yacht Christina O, where their paths first crossed. This union not only solidified their social standing but also saw their combined wealth soar to an estimated $500 million.

To safeguard their assets, the couple executed a meticulous prenuptial agreement comprising 170 clauses governing asset distribution in the event of a divorce. The agreement stipulated that Kennedy would retain one-third of the shipowner's fortune, retain her independence, and retain her maiden name.

Despite the provisions, the anticipated divorce never materialized, and their marriage endured until Onassis's demise in 1975. At the time of his death, their joint fortune stood at $500 million (over 465 million euros), leaving the public unaware of the widow's share.

Recently surfaced documents shed light on this mystery, revealing that Jacqueline Kennedy received a singular payment of $20,500,000 (more than 19 million euros) from Christina Onassis, who inherited the entire estate.

The agreement, a testament to the intricate dynamics, stated, "The wife waives in favor of the daughter all claim, right, title, and interest to receive or inherit any part of her father's estate." It further elucidated that, despite recognizing her husband's substantial wealth, Jackie was content with the provisions made and chose not to assert her entitlement to his estate upon his demise.

This historical document, deemed of "exceptional interest," is set to be auctioned by the firm International Autograph Auctions Europe, with a starting price of 14,000 euros.
