The actor known for portraying Gregor Clegane, "The Mountain," in Game of Thrones, Thor Björnsson, shared a deeply personal and heartbreaking moment with his fans.
He confirmed the passing of his daughter, Grace Morgan Hafthorsdottir, who was born prematurely at nearly six months of gestation. In an emotional Instagram post, Björnsson revealed the painful details of this tragic loss.
"With great pain, we announce the birth of our daughter, Grace Morgan Hafthorsdottir, born on November 8 at 21 and a half weeks of gestation. After a noticeable decrease in movement, we discovered that her heart had stopped beating," the actor expressed, baring his emotions openly.
Together with his wife, Kelsey Henson, Thor shared intimate moments, including images of their little girl alongside her brother, Stormur, shortly after birth. Describing Grace's features, they noted, "She is absolutely beautiful, with blonde eyelashes and eyebrows and a little smile for mom and dad. The love we feel for her is overwhelming. The pain we feel will be with us forever, but so will the love. All our hopes and dreams for her have been taken from us, but I know I will be with her again."
Thor and Kelsey requested privacy as they navigate through the profound grief, expressing gratitude for the kind words and support received. The poignant post garnered thousands of likes and comments, including a message of condolence from Arnold Schwarzenegger, a close friend of the couple. "My heart goes out to you two. Please let me know if you need anything, and know that you are in my thoughts," Schwarzenegger wrote.
