Sharon Stone remembers an episode of harassment with a former Sony boss

The actress, who had not yet achieved worldwide fame in the eighties, recently disclosed the episode on Kelly Ripa's podcast, Let's Talk Off Camera. Stone reflects on why she couldn't share this story earlier, fearing it would jeopardize her career.

In January 2018, during an interview about the series Mosaic, Stone was asked about harassment amid the Me Too and Time's Up movements. She responded with laughter, highlighting the challenging environment of the industry 40 years ago, especially given her background. Now, at 65, she reveals a specific incident from the 1980s when a Sony executive exposed himself during a meeting in his office, emphasizing that she won't disclose his name as she believes no consequences will follow.

Stone vividly recalls the encounter, describing her excitement about wearing her best outfit and meeting the Sony executive. During the meeting, he complimented her appearance but then unexpectedly exposed himself. She recounts her nervous laughter and crying as she became hysterical. After he left through a door behind his desk, the executive's secretary ushered Stone out, marking one of many such disturbing experiences in her career.

In sharing this story, Stone mentions her recent attendance at a concert where a singer spoke about facing harassment from a producer, inspiring her to speak out. Despite her hesitations, she believes it's crucial to address the persistence of such incidents, expressing dismay that little has changed since 1980.

Stone also touches on her health, discussing the brain damage she has endured for over a decade and the importance of daily medication to manage tremors. She extends forgiveness to Hollywood men who apologize for mistreating her but issues a strong message to those unapologetic, emphasizing that she won't tolerate their presence.

Beyond acting, Stone dedicates time to painting, currently showcasing 19 of her works at the C. Parker Art Gallery in Greenwich. Praised by renowned art critic Jerry Saltz, her exhibition provides a unique glimpse into Stone's creative prowess. Toward the end of the podcast, Stone reveals her ongoing project—a debut album featuring songs she has written.
