Once again, Harry and Megan found themselves under criticism on "gfold," an American news and political satire talk show hosted by Greg Gutfeld on the Fox News Channel.
The show kicked off by referencing an article from The Hollywood Reporter, which labeled the couple as among the biggest losers in Hollywood for 2023. During the segment, George Murdoch, known as Tyrus and a frequent guest on the show, openly expressed that the Sussexes are the "deepest Royals," suggesting their irrelevance, and asserted that their perceived complaints are met with little concern.
He went further, stating that being as big a loser on Netflix as they are seems nearly impossible, humorously noting that even a video featuring waves garnered more views than their content. Tyrus, a wrestler and outspoken critic, appeared to have little patience for what he viewed as the couple's grievances.
Another guest joined in, remarking with laughter that a video of a fireplace was more popular than their show. TV chef Andrew GRL, recalling Megan's appearance on his show alongside Junior chefs, shared that communication abruptly ceased after she met Harry, leaving him puzzled. Shannon Bream, another guest on the show and a fan of Hallmark movies, humorously pointed out the absence of Hallmark movie plots where the girl marries a prince and then urges him to give up everything.
The hosts and guests collectively engaged in light-hearted teasing of Megan and Harry for about five minutes, making various remarks, including some about Harry allowing Megan to have a significant influence on him.
One significant issue raised during the discussion was the perceived lack of discretion in the couple's brand, built on breaching private confidences and sharing personal stories. This behavior had allegedly made many in Hollywood wary of associating with them. The discussion underscored the point that if the couple was willing to disclose private conversations with figures such as the late Queen, the current King, the Future King, and even their own family, it raised questions about the confidentiality of any conversation with them.
The criticism from "gfold" was not new, as Greg Gutfeld has consistently called out Harry and Megan in the past. He previously went on a rant after Harry's appearance at the UN in 2022, expressing disdain for what he considered disrespectful behavior towards the royal family. Gutfeld accused the couple of having a loose mouth and noted their inability to be trusted, particularly after Harry's memoir release. Gutfeld went as far as alleging that Megan wrote the book instead of Harry, questioning the authenticity of Harry preserving text messages from his partner.
