Richard Gere has revealed that he is moving to live in Madrid, since his wife, Alejandra Silva, is Spanish. Thus, the Hollywood actor has opened up about how he sees his arrival in Spain with his family.
Richard Gere is a Hollywood star and his marriage to the Spanish Alejandra Silva has made his relationship with our country very close and special. The 74-year-old actor and Silva, 41, met in 2014 and have two young sons, Alexander and James. Previously, the protagonist of Pretty Woman has confessed that he fears being too old and not seeing his children grow up. Despite his words, he remains in perfect physical shape as can be seen in the video above.
The couple has resided in New York to date, but it seems that that is going to change very soon because Gere has confirmed that his entire family is going to come to live in Spain. In an interview that he recently gave, the interpreter was asked about this change and what he expects from his next experience in the country.
"I married a Spanish woman! Her [Alejandra's] mother is now here [in New York] living with us and she is lovely. For me, going to Madrid is going to be a great adventure because I have never lived full time outside of United States. And I think it will also be very interesting for my children. For Alejandra it will be wonderful to be closer to her family, her lifelong friends and her culture," she told Vanity Fair.
"She was very generous in giving me six years living in my world, so I think it's only fair that I give her at least another six years living in hers. In any case, I love Spain and I think your lifestyle is fabulous. Also your ability to live transmitting joy and happiness," said the actor.
"It's a beautiful place, the food is extraordinary and the people exude sensitivity and generosity, as well as an iron will to laugh and enjoy. So I'm looking forward to going there," Gere finished saying.
