Everything took place during an official visit but the Argentine queen knew how to get out of the problem
The inclement weather in Holland persists, affecting even royalty. During the state visit of Don Felipe and Doña Letizia last week, the low temperatures and heavy rain showers were evident. This adverse weather is still present days later, as Queen Máxima experienced at an official event in The Hague. Despite her usual smile, the Argentine was surprised by a gale that altered her outfit.
The incident occurred when Máxima arrived at the Taal aan Zee foundation, a school that offers Dutch classes to refugee and asylum-seeking women. For the occasion, she wore an elegant mustard dress accessorized with a matching hat by Belgian designer Fabienne Delvigne.
Unexpectedly, the hat became the protagonist when she flew away while Máxima greeted the authorities. However, the queen reacted quickly, catching the hat in flight and skillfully placing it back on.
Although the incident lasted just a few seconds, the images captured by the photographers reflect Máxima's spontaneous reaction to the unexpected flight of her hat. Once her setback was resolved, the queen continued with her greetings, this time securing her hat with one hand.
Inside the event, the Queen of Holland was able to relax and concentrate on the proceedings, with her hat in her place. For the occasion, she wore a mustard dress by Natan and matching accessories by Gianvito Rossi, while her jewelry was a pair of striking earrings by Bodes & Bode.
Next week will be special for the Orange royal family, with the celebration of Koningsdag, or King's Day, coinciding with William Alexander's birthday. A day full of festive events in which the Dutch royal family is fully involved, kicking off the King's Day Games on Friday.
