Trooping the Colour, scheduled for Saturday, June 15th, will feature a special appearance by Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
According to Marlene Koenig, author of 'Royal Musings,' King Charles will arrive by carriage with Queen Camilla, providing an ideal opportunity for the royal children to join in the festivities. Koenig shared with the Daily Express, "I had this lovely little feeling and heard from a source close to the Palace that the carriage will include the King, Queen, and the three grandchildren.
Normally, it was the Queen and the three children, but since Catherine is unlikely to attend Trooping the Colour this year, they will be with their grandparents. It would be really cute and sweet. I think if they're not there, people would be really disappointed."
King Charles has shown interest in riding horseback during Trooping the Colour, also known as the King's Birthday Parade, a tradition he upheld last year. However, due to high summer temperatures and health concerns, this may not be advisable. Koenig mentioned, "Everything's on a day-to-day basis, which makes perfect sense considering he is recovering from cancer. I believe the royal doctors will likely advise against it, so we don't expect to see Charles on horseback this year. Instead, he will sit in the carriage with Queen Camilla and the Wales children."
Many royal fans have expressed regret over the absence of Meghan and Harry's children, Archie and Lilibet, at Trooping the Colour. While their cousins play significant roles in the event, Archie and Lilibet have never even seen their grandfather, sparking curiosity and speculation.
Some believe the reason for this is to avoid overshadowing Meghan. Others, however, question the lack of public appearances, suggesting various theories. Skeptics point out the absence of any public photos of the children in typical family activities, such as visiting parks, attending school events, or lining up to see Santa. This has led to unfounded rumors about their existence or their living arrangements.
Critics argue that Harry and Meghan are excessively self-involved and lack patience, which might explain their limited time spent with their children. Additionally, some accuse them of using their children as pawns in a larger narrative against the royal family, particularly aimed at King Charles, who is known to cherish his family and maintains close relationships with his other grandchildren.
Meghan Markle has faced accusations of leveraging her children's absence to create tension within the royal family. This narrative suggests that while King Charles is deeply concerned about family unity, Meghan uses this dynamic to her advantage, causing strain and speculation among royal watchers and the general public.
