Kate Middleton's secret shopping excursion with Duchess Sophie and Lady Louise recently made headlines, with Princess Charlotte joining in on the fun.
According to a royal insider, the young princess enjoyed a cheeky shopping trip in London with the Duchess of Edinburgh and her daughter, Lady Louise Windsor. This outing is one of many that highlights the growing bond between Charlotte and her great-aunt Sophie. Reportedly, Princess Charlotte, the daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales, has grown exceptionally close to her great-aunt, the Duchess of Edinburgh.
Duchess Sophie is said to regularly take Charlotte to different boutiques in London. Their relationship has become more visible at various royal events, where the two have been spotted having warm, candid conversations and sharing heartfelt moments. However, it seems their connection goes beyond the public eye, as the pair frequently indulge in shopping trips to upscale areas like Chelsea and Knightsbridge. A royal source commented, "There is a truly heartfelt connection between Sophie and her great-niece, which is really touching."
On one of these outings, they were joined by Lady Louise Windsor, Duchess Sophie’s daughter. The trio was seen at Peter Jones on King’s Road, a well-known department store in London. The insider added that while Lady Louise adores Charlotte, she doesn't see her as often due to her studies. Lady Louise is currently completing her second year at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, which keeps her away from family gatherings in London.
Princess Charlotte's growing relationship with Duchess Sophie has also been a source of joy for her mother, Princess Catherine. Recovering from a battle with cancer, Princess Catherine has had fewer opportunities for outings. During this time, Sophie’s role in Charlotte’s life has provided much-needed support. As Charlotte continues to spend more time with her great-aunt, the two families are expected to grow even closer.
Both families are set to reunite at Balmoral Castle, the royal family's traditional summer retreat in Scotland. King Charles has extended invitations to various royal relatives, including the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their family, as well as Princess Anne, her daughter Zara, and her husband Mike Tindall with their children. Also expected are Peter Phillips and his daughters, Savannah and Isla, along with Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, and their respective families. This gathering will allow the royals to enjoy a relaxed and intimate time together, away from the public spotlight.
