The Prince of Wales, who has had to navigate a tumultuous year marked by both King Charles III’s health issues and Princess Catherine’s reported cancer battle, has remained a steady pillar for his family. Instead of being distracted by external media buzz, his attention remains firmly on advancing key charitable initiatives and supporting the monarchy through a period of significant change.
When asked about William’s thoughts on Meghan Markle’s upcoming Netflix cooking-themed reality show, British broadcaster and commentator Helena Chard emphasized that the prince has far greater concerns. In an interview with Fox News Digital, Chard explained that Meghan’s new entertainment venture is of no consequence to the future king.
"Prince William has more important matters to tend to than trivial television projects," Chard stated. "He has consistently shown his dedication to the Crown, acting as a source of strength for both his father, King Charles, and his wife, Princess Catherine, throughout a profoundly challenging year. His focus is firmly on his duties, which range from domestic engagements to global philanthropic work."
According to Chard, the Prince of Wales has maintained his composure and steadfast leadership as the royal family endured a series of trials. His ability to manage personal hardships while championing charitable causes speaks to his character and sense of responsibility.
"William is deeply proud of how his father and Catherine have faced adversity with courage and grace," she added. "Despite health setbacks, King Charles has exemplified resilient leadership, reinforcing the values of empathy and service that the royal family embodies. Regarding Meghan Markle's Netflix project, Chard was forthright in her assessment. "The royal family is not in the least bit concerned with Meghan’s inauthentic, superficial celebrity cooking show. It’s the kind of content that holds no weight or relevance to their mission." She characterized the program as "cringey" and devoid of substance, underscoring that the monarchy's focus lies in matters of true public service and legacy.
"The royal family has endured a demanding and emotional year," Chard continued. "However, they are moving forward with gratitude, positivity, and a renewed sense of purpose. There are far more pressing issues on their agenda than anything Meghan and Harry might produce for Netflix."
Chard concluded by noting that unless Markle’s show somehow poses a direct threat to the monarchy’s reputation—a scenario she considers unlikely—it will be largely ignored by Buckingham Palace. "Meghan has become increasingly irrelevant in the context of royal affairs," she remarked. "The Windsors are charting a course that prioritizes stability, service, and the long-term future of the monarchy. Reality TV gimmicks have no place in that vision."
