She took aim at Meghan from the outset, remarking that shifting from a persona of grievance and conflict to that of a wholesome culinary personality would take more than just a batch of store-bought peanut butter pretzels.
Schofield was particularly scathing in her assessment, stating that the public has already formed a firm opinion about Meghan and that it is largely unfavorable. According to her, many people perceive Meghan as lacking authenticity, and once public sentiment hardens, it becomes nearly impossible to change.
Schofield also pointed out a significant obstacle in Meghan's career trajectory—her relevance remains inextricably tied to her connection with the British royal family. She argued that this dependency is the reason why so many of Meghan’s independent projects have failed to gain traction. Without the allure of royal access or insight, Meghan struggles to maintain the same level of interest and intrigue from audiences.
In her final remarks, Schofield speculated on why With Love, Meghan failed to resonate with viewers. She suggested that the show lacked the one ingredient that once made Meghan a compelling figure in the media: her association with the royal family. She went on to claim that Meghan’s in-laws, who reportedly view her as untrustworthy, have deliberately distanced themselves from her, thereby depriving her of the very thing that once made her stand out. Without that royal connection, Schofield implied, Meghan’s ventures simply do not carry the same weight or appeal.
