Prince Harry Faces Renewed Legal Battle Over US Visa and Immigration Records

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, is once again at the center of a legal battle as he faces renewed scrutiny over his U.S. visa status. Reports indicate that the British royal, who relocated to the United States in 2020 with his wife, Meghan Markle, is now the subject of a fresh lawsuit concerning his immigration records.

Prince Harry Faces Renewed Legal Battle Over US Visa and Immigration Records

The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, has escalated its legal efforts by filing a second lawsuit seeking access to Prince Harry’s U.S. immigration documents. This latest legal action follows the release of heavily redacted records by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) earlier this week. The lawsuit aims to clarify whether the Duke of Sussex was truthful about his past drug use when applying for his visa, a matter that has been under public scrutiny since the release of his memoir, Spare, in which he openly admitted to experimenting with drugs in his younger years.

Adding to the controversy, Samuel Dewey, a lawyer representing the Heritage Foundation, has strongly criticized Prince Harry’s presence in the U.S. and even suggested that he should "self-deport" if he harbors negative feelings toward the country. Dewey also alleged that the Duke of Sussex is "furious" with American voters for their decision in the 2024 presidential election, claiming that Harry has expressed disdain toward the outcome. Speaking to Daily Mail, Dewey remarked, "He's in a country he clearly hates. He’s clearly furious at the American voters and attacking them for the result of the 2024 election."

Prince Harry's immigration status has been a point of contention ever since his past drug use became public knowledge. The initial lawsuit, filed in 2023, sought the release of his visa application records to determine whether he had been forthcoming about his history with drugs. U.S. immigration law typically requires applicants to disclose any past substance use, and failure to do so can have significant legal consequences. This ongoing legal battle continues to raise questions about whether the Duke of Sussex’s visa approval was handled with special consideration due to his royal status.
