Meghan Markle recently shared a story on her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder about a hair mishap that took a dramatic turn.
In recounting the incident, she mentioned that her attempt at a DIY hair dye job in 2020 resulted in her hair turning "very inky, almost Elvira-esque black." The comparison referenced Cassandra Peterson’s iconic portrayal of Elvira from the 1980s.
Cassandra Peterson, the actress behind the gothic character, wasn’t about to let the reference go unnoticed. Responding with her signature wit under her Instagram handle @therealelvira, she posted a screenshot of the podcast segment and wrote, "Hey princess, if you ever need beauty advice from a queen just let me know." Her playful jab made it clear she wasn’t offended, but she wasn’t staying silent either.
Meghan went on to explain that the drastic color change led her back to her trusted colorist and friend, Kadi Lee. She recalled reaching out to Serge Normant, who told her to contact Kadi. The Duchess described the visit during the pandemic, saying, “You came over. I mean, we were masked and all the things. It was such an interesting time, but I remember that day so well.”
