Leonardo DiCaprio is said to be reevaluating his approach when it comes to choosing co-stars, showing a newfound openness to working with much younger actresses.
According to a recent report by In Touch, the actor is beginning to embrace his age and sees the value in collaborating with rising stars from a younger generation. A source close to the situation described this shift as a "smart and evolved strategy."
Part of this change is reportedly influenced by DiCaprio’s admiration for Emma Stone’s recent accomplishments. He is said to be particularly impressed by her string of critically acclaimed and commercially successful films, not just as an actress but also as a producer alongside her husband, Dave McCary.
Emma Stone, for context, has earned two Academy Awards for Best Actress—one for La La Land in 2016 and another for her recent role in Poor Things. Her accolades also include two BAFTA Awards, two Golden Globes, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards, making her one of the most decorated performers of her generation.
The source indicated that DiCaprio's newfound interest in younger collaborators represents a significant departure from his earlier tendencies. “Leo is finally taking the next generation seriously,” the insider said, noting that he had long resisted the idea of working closely with younger stars.
A turning point in his perspective reportedly came after his successful partnership with Jennifer Lawrence in the 2021 film Don’t Look Up. That collaboration is believed to have demonstrated the benefits of working with emerging talent.
In his upcoming film, One Battle After Another, DiCaprio shares significant screen time with Alana Haim, who belongs to a younger generation as well. Insiders say this is yet another example of how he is becoming more relaxed and adaptable when it comes to selecting co-stars, stepping away from the rigid standards he once held.
