Kanye West is reportedly eager to withdraw from his ongoing legal dispute with ex-wife Kim Kardashian over custody of their children.
Struggling financially, West is finding it increasingly difficult to sustain the court battle. His financial decline began after he made antisemitic remarks, which led Adidas to terminate their partnership with him. At the peak of that collaboration, his net worth stood at $1.5 billion. Now, it's estimated to be around $400 million.
In addition to the custody case involving their children—North, 12; Saint, 9; Chicago, 7; and Psalm, 6—he is entangled in several other legal issues that are putting further strain on his finances.
A source close to the situation told Radar Online that West is becoming aware of how dire his financial situation is. "His business prospects have collapsed over the last two years, and he’s starting to realize he can’t afford a legal war with Kim," the insider shared.
The source added that West is especially afraid of the custody battle because his legal team has warned it could cost him millions—money he no longer has.
The insider also claimed that although West may appear to have substantial assets on paper, his liquid assets are much more limited, especially compared to Kim’s strong financial standing.
"Kim's financial position is far more stable than his. But more than the money, his public behavior and controversial statements could heavily impact the court’s view of him," the source explained.
They added that West is hoping a softer approach might encourage Kim to agree to a private settlement instead of going to court.
