The Prince and Princess of Wales have traveled to Northern Ireland to take part in various engagements related to Homewards, an initiative tackling homelessness that keeps Diana’s legacy alive.

The Waleses' agenda extends beyond major British royal family celebrations. In recent years, Prince William has dedicated much of his public work to an issue affecting thousands of people in the UK: homelessness. In 2023, he launched Homewards, a project aimed at driving solutions to this problem, which has since become one of his key initiatives. This Friday, the heir to the throne traveled to Belfast accompanied by Kate Middleton; there, the couple is scheduled to participate in several meetings related to the program.

For her visit to Belfast, Kate Middleton chose an autumnal ensemble centered around the "Kensie" skirt by Emilia Wickstead. It is an A-line midi design in a military-green tartan—crafted from a Shetland wool blend—featuring soft pleats that add movement. Priced at €1,935 on the designer's official website, it is currently listed as sold out. The Princess of Wales paired the skirt with a white high-necked blouse featuring ruffles down the front, along with a long, straight-cut black coat.

To complete the look, Kate Middleton selected a black belt with a gold buckle to define her waist and matching black pointed-toe pumps with slim heels. As for jewelry, she opted for a subtle touch with small gold earrings. She also opted for a hairstyle that often complements her public appearances: a half-up, half-down style with volume at the crown, sweeping strands away from her face while letting her hair—styled in soft waves—fall down her back. Her natural-toned makeup highlighted her eyes, while her lips featured a soft pink finish.

Beyond her choice of outfit, the visit offered a chance to learn about the progress of the *Homewards* initiative in Northern Ireland. The Prince and Princess of Wales visited The Commons, a former church on Ormeau Road currently being transformed into a community center for local residents. There, they were introduced to NEON, a program linked to William’s initiative that helps vulnerable young people enter the workforce. Launched in the region in 2025, the program has already facilitated the hiring of 21 young people by seven companies.

William’s interest in this issue began long before *Homewards* existed. As a child, Diana, Princess of Wales, took him and his brother Harry to visit organizations that helped the homeless. One such visit was to The Passage in London in 1993, when the Prince was eleven years old. Years later, he recalled how that experience opened his eyes to a reality far different from the one he knew. In 2005, he also became a patron of Centrepoint, an organization his mother had supported as well. More than three decades after those early visits, the cause remains a key priority on his agenda.
