Jennifer Lopez 'lucky and happy' for her second chance with Ben Affleck

The actress and singer is honest about the second stage of her relationship with the Hollywood star, with whom she had a courtship between 2002 and 2004

Call it fate, call it coincidence, but either way, life has decided to give the couple we like to call Bennifer here a second try so that this time her love comes to fruition. In a new interview to promote her new movie 'Marry Me', in which Jennifer Lopez shares a cast with the recent Versace model, Maluma, the artist has shown her happiness openly because of the state of her relationship with Ben Affleck.

"I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him," the "Love Don't Cost a Thing" singer told People magazine. "It's a beautiful love story that we get a second chance."

JLo, 52, also assured that she and Affleck, 49, "were a little afraid" to rekindle their relationship last year, after dating from 2002 to 2004, even getting engaged to later star in one of the most media breaks of the decade.

The actress confesses that they were "naive" then and that this time they are better prepared to manage things now that they are "at a different time in their lives." "I feel very happy to be in such a loving relationship and I want to do everything I can to protect her and keep her safe," she told the American publication. "She deserves it, really."

The fact that they are both parents now was one of the reasons that Alex Rodriguez's ex used as one of the reasons why everything is different this time. JLo is the mother of twins Max and Emme, while Affleck has three children from her complicated relationship with well-known actress Jennifer Garner: Violet, Seraphina and Samuel.

"To see the person, the human being, the man that he is today, the father that he is today, the couple that he is... It's everything I always knew I was and wanted to be," she said, adding that both have been on "a journey of learning and discovery".

Without revealing if they have future wedding plans, the singer also called her connection with Affleck "real love" and stated that "some things can be forever, but it doesn't mean they just have a straight line. I think what he wants everyone is to be happy and have someone to make the journey to growing old together."

Also denying the popular saying that second parts were never good, Ben Affleck also referred to the new stage of their relationship in an interview with 'The Wall Street Journal', assuring that he considers himself a "lucky" man, since "I I have benefited from second chances and I am aware that other people do not even have a first chance.
