Celebrities usually look quite cheerful and relaxed when they are posing for photos on the red carpet. In reality, these events can be long and tedious, and it can take a lot of effort and patience to look stunning in the pictures. From wearing oversized shoes to using tape to make clothes fit perfectly, stars use plenty of tricks to dazzle us with their beauty.
We at Bright Side were curious about what our favorite celebrities do to shine at red carpet events, and we managed to find out some of their secrets.
They use distinctive poses
After many years of posing in front of the cameras, many celebrities have created their own unique poses. Looking over her shoulder, clasping her hands, or proudly flaunting her curves…every celebrity knows their best angle on themselves and knows how to pose to look good in pictures. For example, Jennifer Lopez often shows off her legs and chooses dresses with side slits that help her do so.
They lie in cars to keep their outfits from wrinkling
Many celebrities prefer to wear elaborate dresses on the red carpet. To prevent them from wrinkling, they travel lying down in the car seats instead of sitting on them. “No wrinkles… Harder than it looks!” Jennifer Aniston wrote in her post of her, showing herself lying in the car on the way to the SAG awards.
Choose shoes one size larger
We often see stars wearing shoes that seem too big for them. The reason for this is quite practical: celebs often choose a larger shoe size for events in order to avoid blisters and swelling.
They wear comfortable shoes
Choosing bigger shoes isn't the only trick celebrities use to protect their feet during long parties. Why torture yourself and wear uncomfortable heels when you can just put on a pair of sneakers? This is what actresses Hailee Steinfeld and Sally Field did during the Vanity Fair after-Oscar parties.
They use soap to tame stubborn zippers
Although celebrities and their stylists thoroughly check their clothes before events, anything can happen. When zippers are difficult to open or close or when they get stuck, rubbing a bar of soap on the area can help move them up or down.
Pictures are taken before the event
Before leaving for events, celebrities take selfies or ask their attendees to photograph them. This helps stars see how their outfits and accessories look in photos. You can also use this trick the next time you are preparing for a party.
They use lacquer to combat static
Static electricity can cause many problems. To get rid of it, famous stylists use a lot of simple tricks. For example, they spray hairspray on the inside of garments, touch clothing with wet hands, or spray some baby powder on their customers' skin.
They use eyeshadow to make their hair look thicker
Lots of celebrities use this trick and you can do it too. Simply choose matte eyeshadows that match your hair color and apply to the scalp or hairline using a makeup brush.
