Not all relationships are perfect, some hide secrets, deceit, and a lot of jealousy, and the cinema uses it to its advantage.
1. Fatal Attraction (Adrian Lyne, 1987)
This movie classic earned 6 Oscar nominations and turned Glenn Close into a legend. It is a story about power, betrayal, and obsession, where Michael Douglas begins a forbidden relationship with Close's character, who later becomes obsessed with him and, after he leaves her, decides to do everything possible to ruin her life and play with her mind. 2. Closer (Mike Nichols, 2004)
Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Julia Roberts, and Clive Owen star in this Oscar-nominated film that explores desire and toxic relationships. The story follows two couples, whose relationship is complicated when they meet and infidelity occurs between them. Of course, no one wants to harm the other, but that is what they do with their decisions. Closer also has a great soundtrack and won Clive Owen a BAFTA for Best Actor.
3. Little Children (Todd Field, 2006)
This film is based on the novel by Tom Perrotta and stars Kate Winslet and Jennifer Connelly, who tell a story of fatherhood, and the need to feel seen and understood. Little Children follows a mother of a family who begins a secret relationship with the father of a child who is playing in the park near her house, knowing full well that they could be discovered and that it could destroy their relationship, but that secret makes her feel empowered and valuable, so she doesn't know how to stop.
4. Infidelity (Adrian Lyne, 2002)
This is one of Diane Lane's most famous movies, where she plays a woman who “accidentally” falls into infidelity, after meeting a stranger on the streets of New York. She has a husband who loves her, a perfect son, and a life many would like, but something is missing from her that leads her to develop an obsession and eventually fall into a forbidden relationship that could destroy everything she has.
5. Match Point (Woody Allen, 2005)
Talking about Woody Allen is complicated, so we are going to focus on Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who star in a great movie about infidelity, where a professional tennis player, who is no longer in his prime, begins a relationship with his wife's girlfriend. brother-in-law, entangling and complicating the relationship between everyone.
6. The postman always rings twice (Bob Rafelson, 1981)
One of the most legendary dramas of eighties cinema, this film is based on the book by James M.
