Let's review some couples who have conquered us with different romances. Sometimes they coincided in the distribution only. In others, they fell in love and their feeling improved the film.
1. Julia Roberts and George Clooney

2. Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara

The royal couple formed by Mara and Phoenix will meet again for the fourth time under the orders of Lynne Ramsay, the filmmaker who already had the protagonist of 'Joker' for 'You were never really here'.
3. Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves
'Bram Stoker's Dracula' (1992), 'A Look into the Dark (2006), 'The Private Life of Pippa Lee (2009), and 'My Ex's Wedding' (2019)
30 years ago Francis Ford Coppola joined them in the cinema. There were two other jobs in common later, true, but what better reunion for these two icons of 90's cinema than a romantic comedy that breathed as much aroma of that decade as 'My ex's wedding'.
4. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone
'Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011), 'Gangster Squad' (2012), 'La La Land (2017)
Part of the success of 'La La Land' was thanks to Damien Chazelle's good eye for choosing his protagonists. Both have fallen for each other twice before: it all started with the comedy 'Crazy Stupid Love'. Then they got involved in a film noir, 'Gangster Squad'. And then they made us dream of 'The City of the Stars'.
5. Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks
'Joe against the volcano' (1990), 'Something to remember (1993), 'You have an email' (1998), 'Ithaca' (2015)
They were the romantic comedy couple of the nineties. In that decade they met three times. The public has connected with the couple in each of their encounters: between an indigenous tribe, at the top of the Empire State, or exchanging emails. 'Ithaca', Ryan's first film, has been the couple's fourth date.
6. Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise
'Days of Thunder (1990), 'A Far Horizon' (1992), 'Eyes Wide Shut' (1999)
They were husband and wife, and the most envied Hollywood couple in the world. They met on 'Days of Thunder', shortly after a vintage tape; but recognition as a couple in fiction came thanks to Kubrick.
7. Maribel Verdu and Jorge Sanz
'The Year of Enlightenment' (1986), 'The Dawn Riders', 'Lovers' (1991), 'Belle Époque' (1992), 'Black Tuno' (2001), 'Stormy Time' (2003) ' Oviedo Express' (2007).
Their careers took off almost in tandem. They learned to kiss in 'The Year of Enlightenment'. Then they were the conventional part of the 'Lovers' trio. A year later, Trueba brought them together again in the cast of 'Belle Époque'. Then they became a more mature couple again, overcoming a bad storm.
