The 6 most disturbing scenes in cinema (some even surprised the actors)

What directors have come to sometimes to make their films make us shudder.

1. 'The Silence of the Lambs' (1991)

The Silence of the Lambs to this day, after 30 years of being released to the public, is still an incredibly crude film and even some of its scenes continue to be uncomfortable for some of its viewers.

An example of these uncomfortable scenes is that of Buffalo Bill and the show of what he did with his victims' skin, in some places it was perceived as too scandalous to the point of being removed to not show him dancing N-.

2. 'Apocalypse Now (1979)

The 6 most disturbing scenes in cinema (some even surprised the actors)

Francis Coppola with 'Apocalypse Now' managed to get the acclaim of the audience but it did not take away the fact that he caused controversy for the scene in which a buffalo is sacrificed as part of a ritual.

This scene was highly criticized by different sections of the public for the excessive cruelty that was seen, however, Coppola explained that he only agreed with the locals and they decided to do the ritual, defending himself later by saying that he would not kill an animal for a movie.

3.'American Psycho' (2000)

'American Psycho' has always been characterized by its violent scenes that, if analyzed, could be questioned due to their content, however, the scene that caused the most controversy was that of Patrick Bateman with the two prostitutes.

These scenes marked the viewers a lot because of the torture that is given to the prostitutes and also because when he sees that one of them tries to escape from her, he decides to kill her and throw the burning saw down the stairs.

4. 'A Clockwork Orange (1971)

'A Clockwork Orange' by Stanley Kubrick is considered a movie gem by many, but the truth is that to this day it continues to cause discomfort for portraying the cruelest side of human beings and showing how violent they can be, through Alex's character.

The scene in which Alex and his friends attack a woman in his house while singing Singing in the Rain is one of the most controversial in cinema; not only because of the S- abuse but because of the calm of the main character when committing such a cruel act.

5. 'Requiem For a Dream (2000)

The 6 most disturbing scenes in cinema (some even surprised the actors)

'Requiem for a dream' has always been considered a controversial film due to its crude display of the consequences of drug abuse, it managed to be so crude that it could not obtain a classification to be released in theaters.

The scene that most stuck in the memory of the spectators was in which the character of Jennifer Connelly performs an act with other women in front of a group of men watching them.

But the treatment given to Sara Goldfarb, played by the great Ellen Burstyn, was not far behind.

6.'Aladdin' (1992)

What is a Disney movie doing here, you ask? Well, before he became a bit more friendly, the mouse used to be careless about his racism. Much of this was largely inadvertent, but one important example was pointed out that resulted in real action.

In the opening track 'Arabian Nights', the narrator sings of "Agrabah" as a place "where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face", later acknowledging that this is "barbaric". This line was changed when the movie was released on VHS, but the impact was still felt.
