Actors Miles Teller and Jennifer Connelly star alongside Tom Cruise in the new action film Top Gun: Maverick, sequel to the unforgettable 1986 film directed by Tony Scott.
The director Joseph Kosinski directs the new film, which hits theaters and in which its protagonist and producer has put the usual care and dedication that characterize his films. "Tom works very hard to make the best film, with him every scene has to be perfect," says the actress.
36 years have passed since Top Gun (Idols of the Air) became a cult film and to this day it remains one of the most remembered and viewed films of all time.
"This movie has it all, the romantic part, comedy, tension, drama, the flight scenes, we show fighter pilots... and that original soundtrack is almost an invention of Jerry Bruckheimer. He made the music of his films was just as iconic as the films themselves", said Miles Teller during an interview with Europa Press.
Working with Tom Cruise has been a unique experience for Miles. "Tom is great, he's a wonderful person to be with on set because he lifts everyone around him. He's the hardest-working person on set and you feed off his energy," said the young man who gives life to pilot Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw.
His co-star Jennifer Connelly shares this same opinion about the quintessential Hollywood star: "Tom is terrific, I've never met anyone like him, he's extraordinary. There's a reason he's where he is. He's very talented and intelligent. He is passionate and enthusiastic about what he does. His enthusiasm is incredible, it is being born with a great passion for cinema and appreciation for the public that sees his films, "said the interpreter, who also highlighted Cruise's professional ethics. "He works very hard to make the best movie, every scene has to be perfect. Nothing is taken for granted, and I admire that."
In Top Gun: Maverick, Connelly plays Penny Benjamin, the love interest of Pete 'Maverick' Mitchel. "I like the strength and independence of my character, her relationship with Pete. I love the sense of humor she has with him, and how much she enjoys him. It's fun to pick up on these characters who have been in an on-off relationship for years and who Now they are at an interesting point," the actress said.
The new challenges of Top Gun
In Top Gun: Maverick, after more than 30 years of service as one of the Navy's top aviators, Pete 'Maverick' Mitchel finds himself where he always wanted to be, pushing the limits as a fearless test pilot and dodging the ascent of range, which would not let him fly by placing him on the ground.
When he is training a group of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission, Maverick meets there with Lieutenant Bradley Bradshaw, the son of his late friend 'Goose'. Maverick must face an uncertain future and the ghosts of his past.
Actors Jon Hamm, Ed Harris, Monica Barbaro, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Greg Tarzan Davis, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez, and Bashir Salahuddin complete the film's cast.
