Prince Harry skips post-coronation lunch, but Charles is disappointed

The kings youngest arrived on Friday (6) and left on Saturday (7), just one hour after the end of the main event

In general, members of the British royal family were relieved by Harry's absence from King Charles III's post-coronation luncheon and all subsequent events, as the youngest of Charles and Diana (1961-1997) left quickly, soon ended the main ceremony of Westminster Abbey on Saturday (6).

Prince Harry skips post-coronation lunch, but Charles is disappointed

His father, however, was "genuinely disappointed'', pointed out a source from the magazine this Monday (8). At lunch, the 74-year-old monarch toasted "to those who were not there" and wished his grandson a happy birthday "wherever he may be".

Harry arrived in London on Friday on a commercial flight and left the next day, just an hour after the coronation. He arranged with his wife, Meghan Markle, to arrive in time for their son Archie's 4-year-old birthday in the US.

During the coronation, Harry sat in the third row, next to his cousins, after being demoted by royalty. There was discussion about arranging the seats along the line of succession, but that would bring Harry very close to William, his older brother, and Kate Middleton, his wife.

Still on the climate surrounding the presence of Harry, Princess Eugenie, who is a cousin and friend of the Duke of Sussex, shared and quickly deleted photos in which he appeared, reports the Daily Star. She posted images of her talking and laughing with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, as they reunited with Harry outside Westminster Abbey on Instagram. The clicks were in the air for a short time and the reason for the deletion is unknown.

Harry and Meghan resigned from duties in the British monarchy and moved to the US in 2020. After that, in March 2021, they also gave a bombastic interview with towithresenter Oprah, in which they exposed some bullshit in the royals, including alleged racist comments from a member of the family. The situation was further aggravated with the arrival of the prince's autobiography, 'What's Left', and with the documentary series recently launched by the couple, 'Harry & Meghan'.
