Probably when he came out it did not become your favorite, although over the years you may have changed your mind.
If you had to choose your favorite Spider-Man movie, why would it be Tobey Maguire's first? Tom Holland news aside, every Spider-Man fan has a special place in their hearts for the Sam Raimi films, especially the one that kicked off the trilogy. But that is not the favorite of the British actor.
In an interview with the Marvel website, Holland spoke about what it was like to receive the news that he had achieved the role of his dreams, about when he went to the cinema to see the first films, and how the interpretations of Maguire and Andrew influenced Garfield.
It was then that he explained that, although he created his own version, he did want to convey that feeling he had as a child watching his predecessors, and that The Amazing Spider-Man, the first starring Garfield, has been the film that has received the most seen of all
“I've seen [Andrew Garfield's] first Spider-Man more than any movie I've ever seen in theaters. I must have seen that movie like five times... For me, it was this weird improv that he did, which is really funny. I could talk for years about it," Holland said.
There is no doubt that this was his favorite Spider-Man movie, perhaps because Garfield is English, or because of his age this saga was the main one (he was only 6 years old when the first Raimi came out). But be that as it may, it seems that it was the one that marked him.
At the time The Amazing Spider-Man was not the favorite of all fans, and in the end, the third was not even made. But over the years, and with rumors that Garfield was set to appear in No Way Home, there was a resurgence of his two titles and a new appreciation for the British actor's version, to the point that there was even a campaign for them to make his third installment. This ultimately won't happen, but there is no doubt that if it had come true, Holland would have been the first to go see it.
