We have been able to see many of the issues that have caused controversy in recent years, such as the death of Lady Di or the departure of the Duke of Sussex from the British royal family. But we have also been able to delve into family disputes and we have been able to closely analyze the differences and few similarities between the fashionable duchesses: Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.
Very Different Origins
Although neither of them belonged to royalty, their ways of life have been very different. While Meghan was born into a family with financial problems and difficulties making ends meet, Kate grew up in a family with a high economic level. The Middleton family owes their money to the company they founded, a stroke of luck that has allowed them to live comfortably.
Very Different Professions
"Kate was raised to be a queen", so says the media. But far from studying about it, before she was the Duchess of Cambridge, she graduated in Art History at the University of St. Andrews, where she met Prince William. Something very different chose Meghan, who studied Theater and International Relations at the University of Illinois.
Something they share with Lady Di
Both are women of solidarity and have shown it in the numerous humanitarian acts to which they have attended. Something that seems to be essential to conquer the princes of England and more with a mother like Lady Di, who gave herself to her people.
Different styles
Kate is elegant, sober, simple, everything the crown would want her to be. It is impossible not to highlight her beauty, her 1.75m height, her brown hair, and her, green eyes would captivate anyone, but if we were to analyze the person based on the clothes she was wearing, we would say that Kate is a calm, reserved person, capable of being a little step back if the protocol so requires, but also take a step forward if necessary.
Meghan's style is more modern, and daring, without rules or impositions. She has an exotic beauty, wavy hair, and a revealing smile that has conquered the British people from the beginning. However, she has a very different style than Kate. She short dresses, with bare shoulders, skipping the protocol, following her criteria, and always with a star halo from her previous stages as an actress.
Kate's rejection of Meghan
Perhaps these discrepancies have nothing to do with the problems between them, but, indeed, their way of seeing life and their obligations to the royal family are totally different. From the beginning of Harry's relationship with Meghan, both William, and Kate advised him to "go slow with the actress". A piece of advice that Lady Di's youngest son did not seem to follow since he got engaged to Meghan before their first anniversary as a couple. From that moment on, the relationship between Harry and William and Kate cooled down, something that became more evident after Meghan entered the family.
Kate and Meghan didn't hit it off despite their attempts to befriend each other, and the press hasn't helped by fueling rumors and feuds. Every day some new fact is revealed that caused the duchesses to argue, such as the well-known confrontation between the two over the stockings of the bridesmaids at Meghan's wedding. Kate wanted to follow protocol and for the girls to wear stockings, and Meghan argued otherwise, explaining how hot it would be for them to wear them in mid-May. Small nonsense that can lead to a great confrontation and, above all, battle after battle can cause a great war.
