Letitia Wright was canceled before the premiere of Black Panther 2

As part of the tapes scheduled for phase 5 of the MCU, on November 11, Marvel premiered worldwide "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever", the second installment of "Black Panther", the hero and protector of Wakanda, the most powerful technological nation in the world, who must face the threat of Namor and the kingdom of Talokan.

Since its first day of broadcast, the Marvel movie has become one of the most successful in the MCU, surpassing others in the franchise and leaving the ground ready for the premiere of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3", the latest installment of the heroes directed by James Gunn.

Although it is one of the most successful, the production directed by Ryan Coogler faced great complications, such as the death of Chadwick Boseman, the protagonist of the first installment, and the great amount of criticism received by Letitia Wright, the actress called to replace him in the mantle of the African hero.

THE CONTROVERSY OF LETITIA WRIGHT

In 2017's "Black Panther", Letitia Wright gave life to Shuri, T'Challa's teenage sister, and princess of Wakanda, as well as one of the most intelligent women in the universe, capable of wielding vibranium and knowledgeable in various fields of science.

Despite her impulsive character, which led her to earn the ire of M'Baku, the leader of the Javari, who criticizes her for not respecting traditions, the character earned a place thanks to her charisma and joy, but that did not save her from the controversy that would lead a year later.

And it is that during one of the most critical moments of the pandemic, which registered thousands of deaths daily, the actress retweeted a video that showed Tomi Arayomi, leader of the "Church of Light in London", in which he attacked vaccines, accused China of spreading the virus, questioned climate change and criticized transgender people.

The publication that Wright shared did not take long to go viral on social networks, turning the actress into a trend due to her publication, for which she deleted the content of her profile.

“My intention was not to hurt anyone. My only intention in posting the video was that it raised my concerns about what is in the vaccine and what we are putting into our bodies. Nothing more, ”she excused herself.

In an attempt to defend herself against it, the actress from "The Queen of the Nile" reported that some users were trying to cancel it for sharing her point of view.

“If you don't go along with popular opinion but ask questions and think for yourself…you get canceled,” she complained.

Despite this, the avalanche of criticism from her did not stop, so she was forced to close her Twitter account permanently.

Recently, the actress spoke to The Guardian and recalled the controversial moment when she was canceled for the content that she shared and, therefore, would support.

“I feel like it's something I experienced two years ago and have moved on healthily. And healthily I apologized and deleted my Twitter. I apologized for any harm I caused anyone,” she commented.

When asked directly about her position today and if she supports what was mentioned in the video that she shared, the actress responded emphatically that she was never her way of thinking.

"Those are things I'm not and I apologized and moved on," she said.
