The former Friends actor announced that Keanu Reeves' name will be removed from future editions of his memoirs.
Perhaps a little late, but it's always better than not, actor Matthew Perry retracted the unfortunate comment he had written against Keanu Reeves.
In his memoirs, released last year, the former interpreter of Chandler on the popular sitcom Friends, had written that "River (about Phoenix, Joaquin's brother) was a beautiful man, inside and out, too much for this world. Sometimes it seems like the really talented men have to go down. Why do men like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die but Keanu Reeves is still among us?"
However, during the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, he admitted that he had "said something stupid." "It was something really wrong," he said, assuring that mention of Reeves would no longer be in new editions of his memoirs. "I withdrew his name because we are on the same side. I publicly retract with him, and if I saw him I would also do it personally. It was something really stupid" Perry closed.
It was not when he spoke of the death of Phoenix the only moment in which he named Reeves, whom he also brought up when he recounted his reaction to the death of comedian Chris Farley, where according to the actor, in his own memoirs, "I went through the Jennifer Anniston's dressing room walls when I found out. Keanu Reeves is still with us."
Let's remember that Perry has had to fight various complications in his life, be it his addiction to alcohol or depression, to which he admitted that writing his memoirs had helped to overcome these episodes. "Everything painful, hospital, rehab, all of it, was washed out of me, and really fast," though he also admitted that it hurt to read his own writing, as he thought, "What a horrible life this man had."
