Prince Henry of England has accused his brother, Prince William, of physically attacking him. As he recounted in his autobiography Spare, the incident occurred in 2019 during an argument about his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, in London.
Describing the discussion, Harry states that Guillermo showed up at his London home, "Nottingham Cottage", to discuss the problems with the press. It was then that he called Meghan Markle a "difficult", "rude" and "abrasive" person, but the verbal exchange escalated very quickly.
The physical attack, he says, left him with a visible wound on his back. But after the argument and the attack, Guillermo returned with a repentant face and "apologized," the newspaper reported.
Buckingham Palace, for its part, has not commented on the alleged physical attack.
This Thursday it has also been revealed that Prince Henry has refused to commit to going to the coronation of his father, King Charles III, according to a preview of an interview on the ITV station before the publication of his already controversial autobiography and that The media itself has spread on the social network Twitter.
"Many things can happen until then, but the door is always open. The ball is in their court. There is a lot to talk about and I really hope they are willing to sit down and talk," he stated during the broadcast clip.
In the same interview, the prince has accused the British royal family of having passed information harmful to him and Meghan, his wife, to the press. "There are people who do not understand or do not want to believe that my family has been informing the press," he insisted in the conversation that will be broadcast this weekend.
A new blow against the image of the British monarchy
The story is just one of many told in the book, which is expected to cause great controversy. This is a new blow to the image of the British monarchy after the last part of Harry and Meghan Markle's documentary was released last December, in which a strong shouting argument between his brother and both was already revealed. They harshly attacked the media and the royal press offices.
The disagreements with the British Royal House began in January 2020, when the prince and his wife announced their intention to "take a step back" from their duties as members of the British royal family and "work financially to be independent," in a decision that some media dubbed 'Megxit', in a simile formed by the name of the Duchess of Sussex and 'Brexit', the departure of the United Kingdom from the EU.
Controversies with other members of the royal family led to this decision by the couple, who went to live in the United States. Months later, Meghan Markle, during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, made some controversial statements in which she denounced racism in the British royal institution and acknowledged that she thought about suicide.
This is Prince Henry's autobiography
Harry's resentment at being the "spare" is the unifying theme of his book, through chapters on his childhood, his education, his career as a royal and in the British Army, his relationship with his parents and brother, and his life with Meghan.
The name of the book comes from an old saying in royal circles and the British aristocracy, which says that the first son is heir to titles, power, and fortune, but that the second is a spare, in case something happens to the firstborn.
At the beginning of the Prince Henry tells the story of how his father, Charles III, supposedly said to his wife, Princess Diana, on the day of her birth: "Wonderful! Now you have given me an heir and a spare, My work is done".
