Emerging actress Sydney Sweeney, known for her roles in films like "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" and the miniseries "The White Lotus," has been making waves in the entertainment industry.
Sydney Sweeney reprises her role as Cassie Howard in the popular HBO series "Euphoria."
"Euphoria" has taken the teen series world by storm, with the second season gaining a substantial following, partly due to the presence of Zendaya in the lead role of Rue. The series also boasts well-crafted supporting characters played by a new generation of talented actors.
Given the series' exploration of subjects like drugs, it often includes scenes featuring from the cast, both male and female. In a recent interview with The Independent, Sydney Sweeney disclosed that she had requested the removal of some of her character's scenes, a request that received support from director Sam Levinson.
The 24-year-old actress mentioned that in the final season of the popular HBO show, "there were moments when Cassie had to be shirtless, and I thought, 'I don't think it's necessary here.'" She conveyed her thoughts to Sam Levinson, who concurred with her viewpoint.
Sydney Sweeney expressed, "I've never felt pressured by Sam or that he was attempting to insert a scene into an HBO series. When he didn't see the need for it, he didn't push for it." In discussing her past experiences, she acknowledged moments when she felt the pressure to the point of discomfort, though she did not specify the project.
Sweeney believes it is essential to share her experiences and highlight the positive atmosphere she encountered on the set of "Euphoria." She suspects that there may be a certain stigma against actresses who disrobe on screen. Reflecting on this, she commented, "When a male actor participates in a scene or bares his body, he often receives accolades and praise. However, when a female does the same, it's an entirely different story." Sweeney's perspective underscores the need for more equitable treatment in the entertainment industry.
