When Morgan Freeman accompanied Margot Robbie to the 2023 Oscars stage, his left arm caught the attention of many.
In fact, the 85-year-old actor was wearing a black satin glove up to the elbow, which raised many concerns. And the reason goes back to a heartbreaking event that transformed Freeman's life 15 years ago.
In 2008, the Dream of Escape star suffered a serious car accident that left his left hand paralyzed.
After the accident, Freeman had to undergo a four-hour surgery to treat the fracture of his left shoulder, arm, and elbow.
A couple of years after the unfortunate event, the acclaimed actor opened up about his injury: "I suffered nerve damage and I haven't improved, I can't move my arm."
And he added: ''If you don't move your arm, it's going to swell. Do you know that you move your hand a million times a day?"
And although doctors had assured him in 2011 that his hand would improve, unfortunately, that was not the case.
Freeman ended up with permanent nerve injuries and remains unable to move his fingers.
It seems that even 15 years later, the Oscar-winning actor is still dealing with the aftermath of the accident, as we saw him wearing a glove during the ceremony.
According to experts, the compression glove works by lightly squeezing the veins in the hand to promote blood circulation, and can even help control tingling, pain, and swelling.
