Kris Jenner officially filed for divorce from Bruce Jenner in the Los Angeles court in October 2013, following their announcement of separation 11 months prior.
A source confirmed to People magazine that the decision to formalize the divorce was a mutual one, emphasizing that the process was drama-free, with the couple having carefully reviewed all details together in the preceding months.
As per documents obtained by People, Kris sought joint custody of their shared daughter, Kylie, who was 17 years old at the time. The couple also shares another daughter, Kendall, who was 18 years old.
Months before filing for divorce, when the separation was initially confirmed, Kris had expressed to the magazine, "We will always be friends because of the dynamics of our relationship. We get along well as a family and with the children, and we are connected. We love each other."
Despite the end of their marital relationship, the couple commemorated their 23rd wedding anniversary on April 21 in an amicable manner, indicating a cordial relationship between them.
Bruce Jenner is expected to appear in court in the coming days to address the divorce proceedings.
