“My Best Friend’s Wedding”
Possibly one of the most popular unrequited love movies of the '90s. The story follows Julianne (played by Julia Roberts), a food critic who realizes she is in love with her best friend after he announces her commitment.
It is then that she undertakes a mission to confess her love for him and avoid that wedding. Throughout the film we see the sabotage tactics of the protagonist, which of course leads her to bittersweet situations that make her understand that Michael (Dermot Mulroney) is not for her and that pursuing him would imply forcing him to love her.
“Always the same day” (One Day)
Young loves that arise in unexpected ways can make us dream of “happily ever after.” However, there is no guarantee that they will work, especially if there is no intention to work on it on both sides.
Starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess, this film is a reality check to stop idealizing relationships that lead to nothing. The story revolves around the friendship between Emma (Anne Hathaway) and Dexter (Jim Sturgess) for several years and how each of them, despite taking different paths, always end up finding each other. They both go through several relationships and heartbreaks until they realize that they are right for each other, although perhaps it is too late.
“500 Days with her” (500 Days of Summer)
One of the films that most divides opinions among moviegoers due to the complicated relationship between Summer (played by Zooey Dechanel) and Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). The story revolves around Tom Hansen, a hopeless romantic who dreams of finding the ideal girl.
This is how he meets Summer, an ironic and free-spirited young woman with whom he immediately falls in love. Although at first they seem to be soul mates, in reality it is the meeting of two people with a completely different idea of what a relationship is.
For 500 days, Tom takes us into his love story, between hilarious situations, failed encounters and constant questioning about what he could have done wrong to make Summer not want to formalize it.
“He doesn't like you so much” (He's not that into you)

The film focuses on nine people and their various romantic problems as they try to navigate the dating world. Characters encounter unrequited loves and misunderstood romantic interests.
One of the stories shows Beth (Jennifer Aniston), who has been dating Neil (Ben Affleck) for seven years but without finalizing anything because he does not believe in marriage. Meanwhile, her friend Ben (Bradley Cooper) is married to Janine (Jennifer Connelly) but is unfaithful with Anna (Scarlett Johansson).
