According to The Mirror, Meghan Markle is in discussions to support a charity that provides food and clothing to those in need near her and Prince Harry's US home.
Meghan is reportedly considering helping Unity Shoppe, a nonprofit organization based in Santa Barbara, close to their residence in Montecito. Meghan has spoken with actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, known for her role in "Father of the Bride," about the possibility of supporting Unity Shoppe. The organization is already backed by Kimberly and her husband, country music star Brad Paisley.
Angela Miller-Baven, the Executive Director and CEO of Unity Shoppe, expressed her hope for Meghan's involvement, noting that other celebrity supporters have spoken to Meghan. "I'm hoping that it works out. We'd love to have her as part of our family," she said. Unity Shoppe has a history of celebrity support, including stars like Katy Perry, Rob Lowe, and singer Kenny Loggins. Angela emphasized the importance of celebrity backing, especially for the annual talent shows. "Celebrities and wealthy people here in Santa Barbara want to give back to their community. They give us a lot of support, for which we are grateful," Angela added.

Teachers, health workers, and shop workers have to spend the vast majority of their income on rent, leaving little for food. We see a lot of middle-class people who need our services," Angela explained.

"I started working at a soup kitchen in Skid Row when I was 13, and on the first day, I felt really scared. It was rough and raw; I just felt overwhelmed. One of my mentors told me that life is about putting others' needs above your own fears. That's always stayed with me," Meghan shared.
