Amy Poehler recently reminisced about a moment that changed how she felt about Tom Cruise, revealing that his physical agility actually made him less appealing to her.
In a candid conversation with Renee Rapp on her podcast Good Hang with Amy Poehler, the comedian opened up about her personal tastes in men and explained why certain traits can be a turn-off. While discussing what she does and doesn't find attractive, Amy confessed that she isn't fond of overly flexible men.
She plainly stated, "I don't like men doing splits. I don't like it. I don't find that attractive. As a straight woman, I don't enjoy flexible men." Her co-host Renee echoed the sentiment, adding that she also finds it unappealing when men perform flips or backflips. Amy agreed, clarifying that her views are purely personal: "This is just my personal preference." She then went further, saying, "But any kind of, like, goofy gymnastics, ugh."
Amy went on to recall a specific instance that solidified her opinion. Referring to the 1983 film The Outsiders, she remembered how Tom Cruise's performance initially impressed her—until he executed a backflip. The movie, based on a popular novel, featured a cast of rising stars including Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze. Cruise played one of the rebellious characters, and at first, Amy found him "cool." But the moment he did the backflip, her attraction vanished. "He lost it for me," she concluded.
