Kanye West and Kris Jenner and the Kardashian family was cut from the final season
The executive producer of 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' revealed that the 30-minute confrontation was never aired.
The executive producer of Keeping Up With the Kardashians revealed that a 30-minute argument, in which Kanye West lashed out at the Kardashian-Jenner family, was removed from the reality show's final season, according to an excerpt from the biography Citizen Kim.
The incident took place on October 28, 2020, during a birthday celebration for Caitlyn Jenner. According to executive producer Farnaz Farjam, West arrived at Jenner’s home with Kim Kardashian and began confronting Kris Jenner and the rest of the family.
“Kanye came to Caitlyn’s house with Kim and just started lashing out at Kris and the family, questioning them for not having voted for him” in his 2020 presidential bid, Farjam recalled, in comments reported by The Cut.
“He made everything about himself,” the producer added. “That whole 30-minute battle was very revealing, but we had to edit it out.”
According to Farjam, the argument occurred on a night when family relations were already strained, and the clan was attempting to come together to support Caitlyn Jenner. “Everyone is trying to reconnect and be supportive,” the producer explained.
Although the altercation was not broadcast, Kim Kardashian’s reaction to the deterioration of her marriage was captured in the finale of the show’s 20th season, which also served as the definitive conclusion to the series.
In one scene, Kardashian broke down in tears in front of her sisters Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner.
The businesswoman was previously married to music producer Damon Thomas between 2000 and 2003, and to Kris Humphries between August and October 2011.
During the same conversation with her sisters, Kardashian ruled out moving to Wyoming to accompany her then-husband. “He should have a wife who supports his every move, who travels with him and does everything that I can’t,” she stated.
That scene aired in June 2021, months after Kardashian filed for divorce in February of that same year, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The legal separation came just months before their seventh wedding anniversary.
The biography Citizen Kim, written by Jonathan Van Meter and scheduled for publication on October 27, details that the relationship “definitely fell apart” in February 2020, when the musician “contracted a severe case of COVID-19” and—after being cared for by Kim for weeks—left his wife and their four children to move to the family ranch in Cody, Wyoming.
Van Meter also notes in the book that West’s presidential bid in July 2020 came as a surprise even to Kim. “The campaign lasted only 11 days, but it left a ruinous trail in its wake,” the author wrote.
The divorce was finalized in November 2022, and the former couple maintains a joint custody agreement for their four children: North, 13; Saint, 10; Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7.
Kim Kardashian explains her five years of being single following her divorce
In an interview with The Sunday Times’ Style, Kim Kardashian admitted that she needed to spend five years being single before opening herself up to love again—a period that followed the finalization of her divorce from Kanye West.
“I was truly single for five years. And that felt really good. I was able to focus on my children and on projects I really wanted to be involved in,” she told the British publication.
The founder of SKIMS stated that, during that time, she felt no urgency to begin a new relationship.
“I really didn’t feel any rush. Nor did I feel empty,” she affirmed. “I felt I needed that time. I wanted to heal completely and work on myself. I wasn’t ready to open up.”
“I really wasn’t even thinking about it. The universe works in your favor when you just let things flow,” she added.
Prior to her current relationship, Kardashian dated comedian Pete Davidson for nine months, until their breakup in August 2022.
Regarding her connection with Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton—with whom she was first seen in Paris in February 2026—the businesswoman was brief when speaking to the same outlet: “In the most respectful way possible, I’d prefer not to [discuss it].”
In an episode of the sixth season of The Kardashians, Kim also reflected on the end of her own marriage.
“The hardest part is when you can’t foresee something that radically changes someone’s personality, and that person is no longer the same as they once were,” she said, following revelations from her sister Khloé Kardashian about her own history with former basketball player Lamar Odom.
“It’s harder when you don’t want your marriage to end for personal reasons, but rather because circumstances force it to. When you hadn’t planned for it—when it wasn’t the outcome you wanted—but you’re left with no other choice, I think that makes it much harder to get past,” she added in an on-camera confession.
