At 19 years old, Canadian singer Justin Bieber is the teen pop star of the moment and his music has millions of fans all over the planet. However, a survey of musical tastes carried out in the United States has revealed that the majority of Americans hate Justin Bieber.
The results of the survey, carried out by Public Policy Polling between May 6 and 7 to a total of 571 people, show that Justin Bieber has received 54% of unfavourable votes, one of the worst results. So much so, that Justin Bieber is only surpassed in negative ratings by rapper Chris Brown, Rihanna's controversial ex-boyfriend.
The survey has revealed favourable ratings for most of the music artists making it big these days with British singer Adele the highest rated, followed by Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Justin Timber lake. However, other musical stars such as Justin Bieber, Chris Brown or Lady Gaga were rated negatively by more than half of those surveyed.
Among the most curious data revealed by the survey, Justin Bieber was the only singer rated unfavourably by respondents from different political currents. Asked which singer they would run for as candidates for president of the government, the respondents chose Justin Timber lake with 34% of the votes. Rihanna was the least voted pop star (2%), while Justin Bieber received only 8% of the votes.
The continuous controversies in which Justin Bieber has been involved in the last year could be the reason why the popularity of the Canadian singer has dropped so much. Justin Bieber has been in trouble with security agents and paparazzi from the countries he has visited during his European tour.
