Special Commando
A police department dedicated to investigating and solving crimes committed by young people.
Acquires the streaming rights to all five seasons of Special Command. The police series, which enjoyed success during the 1980s, chronicles the adventures of a squad of officers who were selected for their youthful appearance. This quality allows them to carry out undercover missions and infiltrate high schools and universities, to solve drug cases, robberies and rapes, among others.
In the first four years of the series, Johnny Depp played the lead role of Tom Hanson, a young 24-year-old cop who longs to follow in the footsteps of his father, a decorated officer. Depp's popularity in the series catapulted him to fame and made him the favorite actor of Tim Burton, who would later hire him to star in his masterpiece: Scissorhands.
The action series, which aired from 1987 to 1991, was created by Patrick Hasburgh and Stephen J. Cannell. Holly Robinson Peete, Peter DeLuise, Dustin Nguyen and Steve Williams round out the cast.
