After eight seasons, the world famous series, 'Game of Thrones', has come to an end. GOT has been nominated 132 times at the Emmys, the highest award for a television series, and it has many curious facts that you probably did not know.
1. 'Game of Thrones' is a combination of the imagination of George R.R. Martin and historical facts, especially from England. In 1455 there was a civil war that pitted the house of York against the house of Lancaster: The war of the two roses. The Starks are inspired by the Yorks and the Lannisters by the Lancasters.
2. The wildfire that appears in the Battle of Blackwater is inspired by the Greek fire, when the Byzantines fought against the Arabs.
3. The introduction of each chapter is different, because only the kingdoms that are going to appear in the episode appear.
4. On average, eight bottles of ketchup are used as blood in a chapter.
5. The heart that Khalessi eats in one scene is actually a 3kg strawberry flavored gummy.
6. The Targaryens are inspired by the Stuarts of England, who were continually looking for allies to keep the throne of England, which they believed belonged to them.
7. Wargs (Nimerya, Ghost, Summer, Hairy, Lady, and Gray Wind) are actually northern Inuts, wolf-like dogs. Also, Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, adopted Lady in real life.
8. The Red Wedding is based on the 'Black Supper', where the King of Scotland gave a feast to make peace with the Black Douglas clan, and served him a black boar's head which is a symbol of death.
9. Over 700 outfits are worn in each episode.
10. After the first episode of the series aired, Jack Gleeson, the actor who plays Joffrey, received a letter from George R.R. Martin saying, "Congratulations, everyone hates you!"
