The actress suffered from strange abdominal pain and the treatment she received at first had no effect.
American actress Sharon Stone surprised her followers by revealing that she had just been diagnosed with a fibroid tumor. On her Instagram account, the actress explained that for some time she had been suffering from strange abdominal pain and that until now she had been misdiagnosed, endangering her life.
Apparently, the actress received a double epidural to treat the condition. However, the pain did not stop, so she decided to see another professional, who informed her that she had "a large fibroid tumor" that needed to be operated on immediately.
"Get a second opinion, that can save your life," advised the interpreter, on her social networks. She also explained that she will take time away from the spotlight to deal with the issue. "I will be away for 4-6 weeks for a full recovery, caring for her. All is well," she wrote.
The prognosis seems to be encouraging since these types of tumors, also known as fibroids, turn out to be benign. In many cases, they are painless and therefore go unnoticed. It is not the first time that Sharon Stone faces a difficult moment in health. In 2001, the actress suffered a stroke that kept her away from the sets for several years. Later, she suffered from benign tumors that had to be removed from her breast and, most recently, she opened up about the nine miscarriages she suffered in her struggle to become a mother.
