Former rugby player Mike Tindall, son-in-law of Princess Anne, pinned his seat at the coronation of King Charles III and said it was frustrating not being able to see much.
“It was unbelievable to be sitting where we were,” he pointed out in a complaining tone. He explained that he had his view blocked by a wall: “Very frustrating that you couldn't see [what was happening] when you turned the corner, but you had the TV there and obviously [you could see] everything that was happening in the back. back and forth.”
“You are at the hottest spot, but everything was happening as they rounded the corner, which had a wall you couldn't see!” he concluded.
The 44-year-old and his wife sat in the fourth row behind Prince Harry and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie during the May 6 ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London.
Despite his not-so-ideal position, the former athlete also praised and said he felt honored to be present at the event. “It's one of those moments,” he confessed as he set the proper historic tone for the coronation.
Princess Anne, the mother of Zara, is the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022). She also has a son, Peter; both are the offspring of her marriage to Mark Phillips between 1973 and 1992.
Even at the end of last year, biographer Angela Levin said that the behavior of the former rugby star in a reality show was undermining the image of the royal family. He was cast in 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here, which challenges celebrities to survive with few resources amid nature.
In one of his statements seen as "controversial" for the royals, he said: "On the first real date [with Zara], we just went out for lunch. And it turned out to be a pretty boozy lunch," said the former athlete. "So we found out that we both like to get drunk. It was a good start."
