After rising to fame with her interpretation of Wednesday Addams, Jenna Ortega has launched the production and has revealed some changes and secrets for the new season of 'Wednesday' on Netflix.
The actress has revealed that she suffered an emotional crisis during filming due to the long working hours and was not without controversy when she had several disagreements with the series' writers because the actress had different ideas for the character.
Now, the actress has confirmed that these ideas can be carried out because she will debut as a producer in the second season of the series, in addition to continuing to play a member of the Addams family.
This has been revealed in one of Variety's 'Actors on Actors' talks that she has had together with Elle Fanning where both have reflected on being child actresses and the manipulation they have suffered on social networks, and in which Jenna has revealed some changes for the second season of 'Wednesday'.
"We have decided that we want to opt a little more for terror in the series," Ortega revealed, explaining: "It is so casual that a series like this, with vampires, werewolves, and superpowers, you don't want to take it too seriously."
The actress commented a few months ago that some plot elements, such as the love triangle between Tyler Galpin, played by Hunter Doohan, and Xavier Thorpe, with actor Percy Hynes White "didn't make any sense" for her character, so now has stated, "We're going to get rid of any romantic interest for Wednesday, which is really cool."
Regarding her promotion to producer in the series, Jenna has defined it as "a natural progression" and explained: "We had already considered many ideas, and I am a very practical person. I want to know what is happening. And with a character like Wednesday, so beloved and so legendary, I didn't want to be wrong. So I try to have as many conversations as possible, on set, with the writers and Tim Burton. We'd all get together and decide, 'Okay, what works and what doesn't? ' He was already very collaborative naturally."
"In the preparation of a second season we wanted to go ahead and make sure that we could start the conversations before," he commented, adding that he is very interested in all the elements of the series and wanted to participate in his decision: "I am very curious. I want to see the costumes, the new characters that are coming, the scripts, and also, they were kind enough to let me put on my producer's hat."
Jenna has stated that having the chance to play a character like Wednesday has "forced her to come out of her shell", adding: "As a young woman in the industry, sometimes people don't take you as seriously or are not as serious. open to conversations. You become a puppet. But the most beautiful experiences I've had in a job, or the jobs I'm most proud of, have always been those in which everyone's voice is heard and everyone's voice is heard. world collaborates".
