George Clooney collided head-on with a Mercedes Benz that crossed his path and was thrown from the scooter he was driving.
The filming of a security camera revealed the moment in which the American actor George Clooney collided head-on with his scooter against a car on a road on the Italian island of Sardinia.
The video, released by the newspaper, revealed the strong impact and how the driver was thrown to the side, falling just a meter from a truck that was waiting to enter the road.
According to Italian media versions, the actor was driving at a speed of about 95 kilometers per hour, although the video does not allow this information to be appreciated.
Instead, it can be seen that the car is responsible for the crash by changing lanes and going the wrong way, presumably because it needed to make a left turn on the street that crosses the main road at that point.
Another motorcycle manages to dodge it at the last moment, just before the one Clooney was driving collided with the vehicle.
After the crash, the driver of the car stopped and called an ambulance that took the actor to the Olbia hospital, where he underwent some checks and was released.
The actor is on the island of Sardinia to shoot the series "Catch 22", of which he is a producer and collaborator of the director, as well as an actor.
The series is based on the novel "Catch-22" (1961) by Joseph Heller about the story of some American pilots who were on the island of Pianosa (Italy) during World War II.
Filming was scheduled to continue until July 21, so Clooney, accompanied by his wife, the lawyer Amal Ramzi, and his twins, resided in a mansion in the Sardinian town of Puntalda.
