Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway crossed paths at a gala event and smiled remembering the characters from David Frankel's film.
It is known that when actors or actresses participate in big films, they are often typecast in said roles. This does not happen as much in cases like Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway because, of course, they have participated in numerous well-known films.
However, seeing them together and dressed to the nines, it is impossible not to associate them with their performances in The Devil Wears Prada, a film released in 2006 in which they both shared a cast. There, Streep played a rigorous and renowned director of a prestigious fashion magazine, while Hathaway begins as this woman's assistant, although with completely different profiles.
The meeting took place at the awards ceremony of the Clooney Foundation for Justice, an organization led by George Clooney and his wife, which seeks to provide justice around the world. They were not the only stars who crossed paths in the place, since Emily Blunt herself, also the protagonist of the film, stepped on the red carpet with her husband, John Krasinski.
Beyond the tense relationship between their characters (which ends in a "happy" way as well), it is clear that the actresses have a great relationship. From the beginning, Streep wanted Anne to be the co-star of the film. It is said that she had seen her act in her small part in Brokeback Mountain, and quickly felt that "it should be her" to play Andy Sachs.
The film was an absolute success around the world, grossing 330 million dollars, with just 35 million dollars. It was one of the great films of the decade, and in fact, its story was many times refuted on social networks regarding theories of who the true villains of this film were.
