For one of the riskiest scenes in a motorcycle jump, the actor had an arduous preparation looking for the perfect shot.

The video that was released, and trended on Twitter, shows Tom Cruise working with his production team as they prepare for what he describes as "the biggest stunt in movie history" for Mission Impossible. : Deadly Judgment (Part One), material that could be seen exclusively before the screenings of Avatar: The Water Path in IMAX theaters and is now available worldwide.

The sequence was filmed in Hellesylt, Norway, in November 2020, and shows the Hollywood star and his crew preparing to perform a stunt that took years of planning, where the 60-year-old actor jumped his motorcycle off a cliff. The scene was repeated six times to make it perfect.

“This is by far the most dangerous thing we've ever attempted,” Christopher McQuarrie, the film's writer-director, said at the start of the video, and Cruise adds: “We've been working on this for years. I've wanted to do it since I was a little kid. It all comes down to one thing: the public.”

The footage shows the grueling preparation Cruise went through to execute the scene, including more than 500 parachute jumps and 13,000 motocross jumps. At the end of the video, McQuarrie tells the camera that the only thing that scares him more is what he has planned for the second part of Mission Impossible 7.
