Keanu Reeves and the Matrix 4 team are under investigation in Germany

The coronavirus came to change things as we knew them. From weekend parties to movie shoots, what used to seem normal like meeting a lot of people in a crowded place today is not only a dangerous activity but even punishable by law.

Keanu Reeves and the Matrix 4 team are under investigation in Germany

And it seems that the film crew of the fourth Matrix movie (87%) broke all the rules by organizing a farewell party with more than 200 attendees in Germany, including the adored Keanu Reeves and his partner Alexandra Grant.

Apparently, the filming of The Matrix 4 has come to an end. Due to the pandemic, the production of this tape was delayed and affected in terms of its release schedule. But recently he resumed filming and even the internet was delighted with the leaked photos of Reeves (Bram Stoker's Dracula (79%), Idaho: The Road of My Dreams (82%), John Wick 3: Parabellum (98%)) arriving on set in his current partner's car.

Furthermore, it has been reported that the production managed to throw a party celebrating the completion of filming, and disguised the event as a scene codenamed "Icecream Teamevent".

This was reported by a German newspaper called Bild, which claims that at least 200 people, disguised as "extras", arrived at the Babelsberg film studios for an all-night event, where guests were entertained by a dancer, a DJ, and a fireworks display.

In addition, they were offered the opportunity to get "souvenir Matrix tattoos". Among the attendees was the protagonist, who is said to have been drinking wine with the plastic artist Alexandra Grant and then left the venue at an early hour.

An anonymous 38-year-old assistant told the German tabloid a little about what happened at the party, emphasizing that it was not filming. It started at 6 pm on Wednesday and continued until the early hours of Thursday; the details even say that they had a feast that included sushi, sake, pizza, chocolate cake, and vegan apricot. There were even Bedouin-style tents and hippie-style caravans available for guests who wanted more privacy (via The Guardian):

The mood was exuberant. Everyone was tested for coronavirus in advance. The instruction was that everyone had to wear face masks, but many people did not wear them during the party… No direction instructions were given, there was no clapperboard, and no one was filming.

At the time this "filming" was carried out, the place where it took place had as a rule that only a maximum of 50 people can be gathered, and for this to be carried out, the authorities must be informed in advance so that they are the ones who approve or not the meeting.

Bianca Markarewicz, a spokeswoman for Studio Babelsberg, told Bild that the Matrix producers described the party as a "celebratory scene, which happened in the summer", and that was the reason for the party, as well as ensuring they had complied with hygiene regulations. Markarewicz also claimed that the producers had "advised this shoot with its many participants" at the end of the film's schedule.

However, the German newspaper that broke the news also confirmed with a spokesperson for Potsdam (the city that is responsible for issuing permission for the festivities) that they were not notified of the meeting. In addition, the spokesperson said that the health authorities will be investigating the fact.

This bizarre event—for a pandemic—was presumably organized by producers Lana Wachowski and Lilly Wachowski.
